August 21 2007 - English practicing

Thesis statement:”Your feeling after watching the film Alexander Great Emperor on Star Movie channel this night?”

When I was a little boy, my father used to reward me whenever I have any 10-marks examinations after school. I did remembered one time, I had a passion for the book talking about the histories of the world class Kings and Emperors, including Alexander. Until this night I had such a chance to watch and to know thoroughly about the real life and achievements of one of the greatest characters in the world, both in Medieval, Renaissance and current times. He is Emperor Alexander – who was considered “The son of Zeus”.

As the son of Queen Olympos and a humble guy, he was such a bastard prince who received much affection from the great King Philips. Being under the draconian education at the beginning, he grew up with the bloodstream of brave and strong Greek warriors inside. At the age of 8, he affirmed himself to his Majesty and Metadonia people while trying to tame a wild horse that no one dare to touch. Then, with an upright and strong characteristic, he himself contradicted an accusation of his bloodstream before all the courtiers of the loyal, and before his King’s weeding ceremony with another lady. Moreover, he was influenced by his mother’s conspiracies, the lady who was ambitious and so much love him.

He was honored to be the King of Metadonia in front of many people’s sneers about his father and the king Philips’ assassination, which was believed to be supported by the Queen Olympos. Nurturing his King Philips’ ambition to expand Greek territory, he and Metadonia troops started the expeditionary to Asia countries. All the victories at battles of Persia, Babylon, Arabia, a part of India as well as any other races in the Northern days by days distinguished his image in the world.

If I was him, I wouldn’t come up with that terribly fatal mistake at Southern India to hold the battle to invade the rest of India and worked against courtiers’ dissuasions, that led to the very first failure and the last battle of Great Emperor Alexander. He was injured in that battle, and was poisoned by his very close courtiers after that at Babylon’s palace. After his death, Europe and Asia, which had been unified by his expeditionary for years, now were divided and were commanded by many generals in his dynasty. Greek monarchy was disintegrated since then.

Alexander Great Emperor, who nurtured to unify Europe and Asia into one with the famous saying:”One Asia couldn’t have 2 kings” and “Let’s fight! Zeus is upon us”, was proved to the world about the great, brave and strong Greek race, about ambitious and enterprising typical dared to better himself in this huge world with very difficult beginning. On the contrary, some of teenagers and youths nowadays live in the lap of luxury and rich, but they are so feeble and weak, they just depend on their parents’ effort and money for just few recreation, corruption and social evils. Very shameful!

All memories and images about Alexander great Emperor will never fade in my mind. He’s one of the typical simples for me to try my best for my target, my future, and my promise to one person on the other side of the globe.

Dare to live, dare to do what you think is good for you, dare to affirm yourself, then you’ll get good results.

Kim Hai Le Nguyen.
