In making furniture, when there is any nail that sticks out the flat surface, the carpenter will hit it with a harmer, sothat the nail will be at the same height with the other, and the surface becomes smoother. That is such a good work.
But...
Is it always good to hit whatever sticks out?
In life today, especially at work, people rarely dare to show off their talents, just for the reason that there are always some harmers around who gaze at them, and “willing” to ‘beat” those sticked out nails for the personal sake of themselves. Whenever there is one genious idea given out, those “hammers” just keep thinking whether that idea will help that guy standing out of the company, and thus their position will be shaken with that?
Many youths today are afraid of working in Vietnam companies, especially those which are affected much by Vietnam bureaucratic working culture, just for the reason that their contribution will not be well evaluated by so-called managers. All those, who lack talent and capacity, are mostly promoted via relationship with the root of the company (as Vnese people said: Con ông cháu cha), consider their own sakes rather than take care of the company profits, then how come they can evaluate exactly the income of what they have, and how they can help to impose the development of Vietnam in the near future?
Ewwwwwwww…
What we have seen on newspaper nowadays is that people blame on those people who went to foreign countries to adapt new working environment, technology and refused to turn back to contribute for their country. Some other people also cite what Chinese people say ”I am rather a maid in China than a manager in foreign country” to blame on what conscience that Vietnamese youths do not have...
Guys…
Will you rather choose to turn back to the country and devoting all their life with the income of nearly 100$ per month after studying more than 10 years, getting the PhD degree, or to stay in the place that is willing to use yourself at an important function, and get the salary of 10000$ per month? Everything has its bright side and dark side, we have our right to blame, but first we have to blame ourselves for having no policy to treat our genie well.
To tell the truth, unless the government changes the policy, I prefer getting out of the country to work. The place where I am appriciated when I dare to stick out to show my idea, no matter what right or wrong I am, no matter stupid or lousy the idea is, without any fear of being hit on the head somedays.
I am crazy ^^.
